Havre De Grace

The Meaning of July Fourth for the Negro (July 5, 1852), Frederick Douglass (performed by Jame Earl Jones)

A few years ago a family friend introduced us to an interesting and welcoming little town to 'celebrate' the countries independence.   The 4th of July (this year the 5th) celebration in this little town gives a peek into what the 'American Dream' society would look like, with everyone celebrating, living, and inter-mingling in harmony.  The mix of personalities found in this town is summed up quite nicely within the big parade down 'main street.' Not sure if that's the name of the street but there is something about this quaint town that would have anyone familiar with American cinema give it a similar misnomer.  In Havre De Grace I can enjoy the fairytale of independence...

Until next year (off to enjoy my independence)...
